Cyclone 'Mocha' Is Predicted To Hit Bengal On May 6

Cyclone 'Mocha' Is Predicted To Hit Bengal On May 6

The second week of May is expected to see a very strong storm develop over the Bay of Bengal, according to forecasts from the European Centre for Medium-Range Weather Forecasts (ECMWF) and the Global Forecast System (GFS) of the United States.   If the cyclone develops, it will reportedly be known as "Mocha." The Windy weather forecast model predicts that Cyclone Mocha will likely emerge by May 11. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) predicted on Tuesday that a cyclonic circulation is likely to form over the southeast Bay of Bengal around May 6 and that, under its influence, a low-pressure area may emerge in the same area within the following 48 hours.
